HEALTH FOR HUMANITY
Under the 'Health for Humanity' Project, 10 medical camps are organised each year across the state of Karnataka by a group of volunteering health professionals supported by our sponsors and donors. Over 10,000 patients have availed of free medical check ups over the many camps conducted since the inception of the Foundation. The professional work force of the Foundation includes volunteering doctors, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, health workers and support staff. Over 50 active volunteers in fundraising activities necessary to financially sustain the work of the doctors. KCPRF is also strongly committed to cancer prevention in the Head & Neck areas with emphasis on early detection.
At 'Health for Humanity' we believe that access to healthcare is the fundamental right of every individual. Health for Humanity endeavours to restore health and put the smile back on the faces of people with physical and mental illness specially among the underprivileged sections of the society. Healthcare delivery very often falters at the last mile. And those in the last mile very often are the most backward and underpriviledged in the society. As a part of this initiative, health camps, screening programmes and training programmes are organised with support from local organisations and NGOs targeting societies deprived of, or having limited access to healthcare. Special effort is made to base such activity in the "last mile" which includes remote areas and impoverished localities. Health for Humanity brings in global expertise by bringing in the services of top healthcare professionals willing to devote their time and expertise to the furtherance of this initiative.
The Fight against COVID-19 & Mucormycosis (Black Fungus)
The Covid-19 pandemic is a social and an economic crisis just as much as it is a health one – its repercussions, severe and far-reaching, are being felt across the world. KCPRF has been actively involved in the fight against COVID-19 by organising vaccination drives, relief camps, free kit distribution camps and free medical check up camps across Bangalore

Along with COVID 19, Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) too has ravaged the country in the recent months, by proving to be an 'Epidemic within a Pandemic'. More than 30,000 people have been affected by this rare fungal infection with high morbidity and mortality rates. This infection has been affecting COVID patients who are also Diabetics or on steroids. In Karnataka, cases have spiked by over 50% in just about a week and over 2000 cases have been reported. Antifungal treatment for Mucormycosis is expensive and many patients need to also undergo surgical procedures to clear the disease. KCPRF has initiated the creation of a separate fund for Mucormycosis to help the patients below poverty line to meet their treatment needs.

Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad Rao, Vice President of KCPRF has been at the forefront in engaging with various Governmental agencies right from the beginning of the Pandemic. He has provided vital inputs to the COVID Task Force, and the Health Ministry of the Government of Karnataka and also the Government of India. As a member of the Mucormycosis Committee and the Advisory Committee to the COVID task force, GoK, his recommendations have been accepted and incorporated into several Government orders and notifications.
