  • We are back from the sumer break and a lot has happened/is happening.
  • I'm sure most of you have seen the news reports about the protests in Burma. Some KnRF members joined a campaign for Burma in Umeda yesterday to show our support. Some pictures can be seen here. Some handed out fliers while others passed around a microphone. The media was there, both TV and print. I think it's very important that we don't forget about the atrocities going on in Burma after the news reports fade away.
  • The next Kobe Global Charity Festival will be on October 21 starting at 10:00 am. KnRF with have a booth and will conduct our monthly meeting. A map can be found here. Please feel free to email us for any info.
  • A tentative date for the next Book Fair has been set for 11/18.

  • The World Refugee Day Commemoration Symposium topic for this year is Burma. Speakers include David Mathieson representing Burma from Human Rights Watch [English], a refugee from Burma, and a Japanese expert.

  • The next yoga session will be Sunday June 3 in Nakazakicho off of the Tanimachi Line. Simon will be the instructor again. The fee is ¥1500 and all of it will go to support the refugees. Donations of more will be gladly accepted.

  • Yoga lessons with Simon will be on the last Sunday of every month starting this month March 25 and April 29. This will be a basic yoga class suitable for beginners but interesting for those with more experience as well. Space is limited so please email us to reserve a spot.
